Meaningful Beauty - Unprocessed return.

Returned shipment at my expense & kept waiting for refund to show on my card & after waiting a month I call Meaningful Beauty & am told it takes 4-6 weeks once they receive the product for the refund to be processed. I explained in dealing with another skin care company my refund was processed within 5 days of them receiving the return. I then provided the tracking# & told him the pkg was delivered on 12/14/13 & was then told by the rep he would go to person over him & have it processed within 3-5 days. Five days later I get an email stating my pmt hasn't been received so I call back because this meant my refund obviously wasn't processed, on this call I'm told the refund hasn't been processed & again it will be 3-5 days only after I tell the rep to cancel my membership. Not a very good experience on the first return & if my refund is not processed within that time quoted there will be he'll to pay. While my skin feels better when I use it I have not seen such a difference in wrinkles as they claim, I can definitely use other products for less $.

Meaningful Beauty - Charged account after canceling the account (total 3 times)

I had ordered a thirty day supply and received and was charged for a 90 day supply! Then they sent me and charged me another 90 day supply in two months time, again in two months time they repeated that process, and finally Dec and Jan they sent and charged me another 90 day supply! In total they got me for over 200.00 and proceeded to tell me they had canceled my account when really they hadn't! Ended up changing my entire account information in order to fix the problem! This is sad because Cindy Crawford has put her name and face behind such a hideous program and shady at best product!

Meaningful Beauty - Ordered per the infomercial with different outcome

I ordered this product and thought I was getting it for the price of $39.95 and the when it came in the mail, it was a price of $149.95. I proceeded to cancel and they were so rude on the phone. They told me that I would be charged for the other two charges and then it would be at least 4-6 weeks before I would get a refund and once they received their product. Very, very deceitful. Someone should stop this company from getting away with this type of business. They never said on the commercial that this was for a total price of $149.95. I would have never purchased it.

I fell for this *** too, ordered from 'special offer' TV commercial. Next day I received an E-mail confirmation informing me I would be charged $150.11 Canadian.

I telephoned immediately to cancel and was told "too late it's already been shipped" which was untrue (according to the shipping notice on the package it wasn't sent till the following week). I returned the package upon receipt with written instructions to cancel the subscription, credit my account and not to send me any more product. This is being ignored, its one month and I still have no credit, plus they continue to send me product and charge my account.

The second parcel arrived yesterday and is going back today. I'm really frustrated and at a loss as to what to do next to stop these people.....I wish I'd never seen that darned commercial.

I can't believe she would be involved with such a company either. I am so angry at myself for falling for this scam.

It's the principal of the thing.

I don't like being forced to pay for something that I don't even know if I will like and then be charged automatically.

Glad you read the review too.

Meaningful Beauty - They closed my account and tell me they are not "allowed" to tell me why.

I have been using products for a couple of years and actually like them; however, I have always had trouble getting shipments. I have had to call every time to get them to send a new shipment. This last time I was told my account had been closed and they were not "allowed" to tell me why. I asked for a supervisor and was told that person could not tell me either. This worries me as I am afraid it is affecting my credit score. I am going to try again tomorrow to get some answers. Why would they not be "allowed" to tell me?

Meaningful Beauty - Refusal to accept cancelation request!!

My husband ordered the basic starter kit for me as a gift. Upon receipt of the products I reviewed the paperwork and saw the provision of products being shipped and billed to his credit card automatically. He didn't realize this when he placed his order, but fine, you can cancel by calling the number provided. No online canceling was available, but again, okay, you just make the call. He made the call immediately once I brought this to his attention and the person he dealt with taking his cancelation request was so rude and basically refusing to process his cancelation request. He finally requested to speak to her supervisor to complain and hopefully get his cancelation processed, and after much verbal battle with the initial call taker refusing to get a supervisor for him, he was transferred to a supposed supervisor and met with a woman with an even worse and rude attitude than the first one. It was an unbelievable experience for him and it wasn't until he told her he was recording the call and demanding cancelation and not authorizing any additional charges to his credit card that she granted his request, but was provided no confirmation of the cancelation actually being made. No matter how good a product is, you undermine all faith in your company when you conduct business like that. I would have ordered more products because I did like them, but I did not want automatic shipments and billings. However, based on the tactics used by the call takers, I would never deal with anyone associated with this product again.

I canceled my account again today 10-30-04 I canceled this account in July but they say they have no record of it. They better cancel the account today or I will take them to court.

I don't like the product it makes my face dry and flaky.

I thought about ordering it but after reading your complaint *** no thank you for saving me the hassle of dealing with those rude rich people Mrs. Crawford should be ashamed of endorsing this product even if it works . I would have gone straight to my bank a got my money back. It's great your husband recorded the conversation I bet their jaws dropped ! Lol . I've always used oil of Olay and have had great results I'm turning 40 this year and people think I'm in my early thirties I use it all over my body like lotion . I thank you for your warning I think I will stick with Olay !

we were happy to pay for what we received. he knew what he ordered and was prepared to pay for that.

i was happy with the kit and not looking for a refund or anything on that end of it. the automatic shipments and billings was another issue. when he said he wanted to cancel, she straight-up refused to take "no" for an answer. over and over again she refused.

and when he was asking for her supervisor, she refused that over and over again, asking him, why? why do you want to talk to a supervisor; you're dealing with me? he said, are you *** kidding me? not that it matters really, but he doesn't think it was an actual supervisor he was transferred to, just a more aggressive call taker trying her best to beat him down and she too said, no, you cannot cancel.

that's when he informed her he was recording the call, which he wasn't doing at first because it never dawned on him he would have this kind of ordeal, but once he got into it and saw how things were going, he knew he better record and put her on notice that he was recording their conversation.

we've notified the credit card company that we are not authorizing any charges from that company and asked to be notified if any attempts to bill our card is made by them because i have read several complaints/comments from others saying that after similar arguing on the phone as we had, their products were indeed canceled, no more were shipped; however, billing continued to appear on their credit card!

Tell them that you broke out in a rash, went to your Dr., he read the ingredients on the back of a few of their products, and told you that you are allergic to paraben. That is what I had to tell them, and it worked.

i'm sure you know this already, but we shouldn't have to tell a lie in order to make them stop billing for products that we don't want; that's just crazy, lol

MEANINGFUL BEAUTY TRICKERY

Via the TV commercial, I purchased the "Meaningful Beauty" 5 piece kit @ the introductory price of just $39.95 !! WOW! What a great deal. I didn't like the fact that they would "automatically bill me" and continue to send the same product every 3 months. Therefore, after receiving it today, II received it today, I IMMEDIATELY called to cancel anymore shipments and I would just try what I paid for first. Upon telling them, I was informed that I had a BALANCE DUE still of $99.95 for the products I had received!!!! The customer service representative told me that I needed to RETURN the product that I just PAID FOR and they would not send anymore OR bill me anymore!! WHAT??? THIS is a scam hatched straight from the pit of ***. I was so angry. WHO can we contact to STOP THIS TRICKERY to us HONEST consumers??? HELP in VA!!

Meaningful Beauty - Contact the Attorney General ASAP

Here is one for the record books. I lost my Credit Card and called my bank to close the account and send me a new card.. The card was replaced with a new one. Two months later I see a charge on my account from Meaningful Beauty. I called my bank to dispute the charge as I did not give Guthy Renker my new card # nor the security code. I also call Guthy Renker to cancel and let them know they where not authorized to use this new card. A week later the box of Meaningful beauty shows up (with products they picked). I finally stopped them by blocking them from using my account through my bank but then I was threatened with being turned over to collections if I did not pay 79.95. If this has happened to you contact your Attorney General and report it. Ask the Attorney General to have Guthy Renker provided the security code on the back of you card along with proof that you authorized them to use your card.

Meaningful Beauty - Cancelled account & they still proceeded to charge me

I cancelled my account in August & made an unauthorized charge to my card in Christmas last year. I call Christmas eve & the rep said she could see whew is was cancelled but instead of them cancelling they made it for another 5months. The shipment was canceled so I did not receive any product but was billed anyway, was told I'd receive the money back on my card in 3-7 business days, never did. Called again today & got the same thing.i am not happy about this at all. It has put me in a bad spot cuz to some it may not be much money but it sure is to me. My husband has been out of work & I've not had a raise in 4yrs. I work my rear off & we are still struggling & can't make ends meet. I like the product but highly doubt ill be a customer again.

Meaningful Beauty - I have been screwed before many times when doing 30 day trials.

I would really like to try meaninfull beauty, however I refuse to be lied to again and have my account be exhausted. Therefore if this company wants to sell more product they should do what proactive did and make it available where people can gio to the mall and purchase the product with the same deal they provide on the internet. That way all the *** is resolved....Jessica O. Apparently I need to type at least 100 words, however my statement is pretty clear. I believe many will agree with me; it would put an end to those who have to cancel their credit cards and go through a bunch of stress that in this day in age.....we don't need it.

Meaningful Beauty - Cancelled Account and future shipments - continued to charge my bank account after being told they woud not charge me.

I called to cancel shipment 4 days prior to shipping since they put a hold on my bank account for the shipment that had not been shipped. They assured me the order and future orders were cancelled and that the "hold" on my account would be lifted at the end of expiration hold date. So the hold was indeed lifted, however, today I checked my bank account and MB withdrew $48.94, a week after the expiration. I called customer service and was told that a shipment was going out. I demanded they put the money back in my account today (it will be 3-5 business days before it will show up) and I further explained that if a shipment arrives it is mine and I refuse to return it since I cancelled the account on 12/11. Why would they process a shipment on 12/20 if I cancelled it? I was assured they will not take any more money out of my bank account. They have the worst customer service and billing process I have ever seen. If you read this, DO NOT EVER order Cindy Crawford's beauty products - I mean EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meaningful Beauty - They would not credit back full refund

I ordered meaningful beauty, tried the product twice and returned it, they gave me a hard time even though it was within the window, I also cancelled the subscription, but they sent the second order anyway. I returned the second just as the first. They would not give me a full refund, they subtracted the shipping for both shipments from the return, even though I had cancelled the second shipment. They claim full refund. I had to call many times to get the order subscription cancelled. They gave me the run around and finally they agreed only to refund a portion of the costs. This company is a scam and do not order from them.

Meaningful Beauty - Meaning Beauty - READ about this totally horrible scam!!

This is the most disgusting and greedy SCAM I have every encountered. The product has some irritants that cause major breakouts, rashes, swollen eyes, loss of eyelashes, and contain cancer-causing ingredients (that when asked about was LIED to). Reports on customer service are so ridiculously awful that I was prompted to research. I believe there will be legal action taken against Guthry-Renker. Astonished that this has not already occurred! Please share ALL your horror stories with me. Also, I encourage you look up reviews of these products on Amazon.com. You will be dumb-founded that no action has been taken to date. I think people are way to passive about this dangerous product, let alone the fact that they are stealing money from people using a "FREE TRIAL" tactic, that is so awful most people are charged hundreds of dollars AFTER canceling and returning the product. Many people are forced to call their bank and cancel their cards just to stop getting charged. I believe it is our duty to bring legal action against this kind of blatant misrepresentation of a product, and dismal customer service. I highly encourage EVERYONE who has had an issue with this so-called skin care line to RECORD YOUR PHONE CONVERSATIONS when calling. They are known to lie, refuse to give refunds on "mistaken" over-charges, continue to charge if order is on hold, and send you from one horrible supervisor to the next. This must be stopped. I will not passively sit by and watch Cindy Crawford and Valerie Bertanelli LIE about this product when they know they are taking advantage of vulnerable people. And the so-called youth guru doctor (Mr. Melon) is a totally greedy lying manipulative attention seeker. I am disgusted and appalled that they would knowingly market and release a product containing carcinogens, and cause people harm. One woman's rash was so severe she had to be treated with antibiotics! This cannot continue, period. I will launch a campaign to stop them, and reveal all these people for who they are. SHAME on you Cindy Crawford. I did some research, and found that Cindy uses Botox, collagen injections, peels, and other cosmetic surgical procedures to maintain her looks, and then pretends that it is because of the magical melon juice (something that can easily and cheaply be obtained over-the-counter) is the reason she looks youthful. BLATANT LIES that are now causing major health problems. The products are NOT hypoallergenic, so the good doctor is full of it. As a dermatologist, he has an obligation to his patients to first do no harm. I guess money corrupts. I have lost all respect for Cindy, Valerie, and GR. Please share and comment. Thank you.

Hi

I had a similar thing happen before with Guthy Renker they do not care. It is like dealing with the mob they won't return your money and forget customer service.

When I spoke with a rep when trying to get my money back when I had been charged without authorization, she blamed me. Maybe she was right since I was *** enough to do business with them! Now when purchasing products no matter how enticing I won't buy it if they are associated with GR.

Let your wallet do your talking for by not buying anything GR handles. You'll keep your money safe that way also.

April,

Did you even read the complaint? I guess it's the gullible suckers like you that make them so much money. You can simply buy a bottle of any otc moisturizer and get the exact same result. I suggest you re-read the complaint. It has to do with over-charging, ridiculously horrible and unresponsive customer service, claims that are blatant LIES in the 3 am informercial that there is 'magical' serum from a melon that scientists found. And if you put it on your face, it won't age and you will be beautiful. It's uneducated consumers such as yourself that they are targeting. I hope you like it a lot, because they will now charge you hundreds of dollars for something you could buy for 10.00 at CVS.

How can you be so self-centered and insensitive to others who have a terrible skin reaction because the product is NOT hypo-allergenic? I suppose that in April's world, April only cares about April and since it works for April then April is happy.

God forbid the day comes when you want to stop but cannot, because you'll get the same bull run-around while they silently drain your bank account. Have you ever stopped to ponder WHY this magical new beauty product is sold as through a freaking infomercial? If it actually worked, it would be HUGE news all over the world and would hit the market, not being sold through the t.v. with a trial period that you can't escape from.

You've been ripped off and don't even know it, haha. I have some magical swampland in Alaska if you want to buy it? I heard that if you build a house there, fairies will greet you and a nice witch will come, wave her wand, and take 10 years off your "beautiful" face. Only 9.99, free trial period. The witch is the special 'gift with purchase' item! Act now, since they are running out as I type this!!

:grin 8) :p

Hi Kim!

Your English is quite good. I understand what you are communicating. You were over-charged for a bogus (fake) product and were billed for shipping even though you were told that the shipping would be free. When you called and tried to resolve the problem, you were rudely disconnected.

This is a very very common complaint unfortunately. I wish I could help you. As a consumer advocate, all I can do is post reviews / warnings on websites such as these and hopefully draw attention to the SCAM before more people are sucked into this pitiful scheme.

I would suggest calling AGAIN and AGAIN until you do get through to an actual customer service representative. Insist that you talk to a supervisor. Once you have a 'supervisor' on the phone, just speak slowly and stay calm and reasonable. Explain the problem, and be sure to have ALL the information in front of you. If you want, type out what it is you want to say and read it, so you don't get flustered. If they get angry or sound annoyed, just remain calm and repeat your problem. Insist that you be repaid for the money you lost.

Most importantly, use a tape recorder so that the conversation is taped. That way, you have PROOF of what they say in case they later try to lie about what you were told.

Feel free to use the word lawsuit. They are stealing money from you! If someone came into your home and took the money out of your wallet without permission, they would GO TO JAIL. Yet they are very good at justifying this crime by deflecting, disconnecting, lying, using excuses, etc.

Please post here again after you try to get your stolen money returned. I wish you all the best.

Warm regards. :)

So far I find meaningful beauty to be a fine product.I think those bashing it either have bad skin issues, are not using it properly or have no knowledge of cosmetics. My skin looked pretty and had Nice glow after ONE application. Just because it doesn't work for you that doesn't mean that you go online and call it a scam.

Meaningful Beauty - I had to cancel my credit card to keep them from charging- even after I cancelled my account!

I called and cancelled my account, but they continued to bill my credit card. So I cancelled my credit card, and they continued to try to bill me for product that I didn't even receive. My credit card company is now going forward with fraud charges against Meaningful Beauty. I just received an e-mail from Meaningful Beauty today stating that I needed to pay them $93.30 for an order that I never made on October 3...and as of yet I have not received. I would never again order a product over the phone with my credit card...this is a fraudulent company!!!!!

Had the same problem with them continuing to bill me after I cancelled the Meaningful Beauty and returned an order of vitamins. I had added the *** vitamins on to my original order & more vitamins came, which I was charged for.

I hadn't even open the 1st ones. So I returned them. They said it takes them 4 to 6 weeks to receive a return. What!

So they continue to charge my account. I had called over a month ago and was suppose to be refunded and that Never happened so I called again and it was a mistake they said, probably hoping I wouldn't notice.

Very deceitful company...
